So After being tempted by the ads for a few weeks, I have bowed under the magnificent PR campaign of MOCA, and will go visit the Murakami exhibit.

http://www.moca.org/murakami/

He's a Japaneses artist who, by the looks of it, did Kanye West's CD cover art for Graduation, which I really enjoyed. But he's also working on some sort of animation project. His whole style just reminds me of (EDIT: It is Takeshi Murakami who did Kanye's CD) An advanced PaRappa style, with neon colors, bright and happy characters, and a surrealist element. So yeah, one of these weekends I'm going to go see that. Maybe as a birthday present to myself.

Shadi contacted me this morning about apartments in Culver City. An interesting idea, since my mom has decided to make me pay rent next year. Well, If they don't have broadband/cable installed, then I may as well pay my way. He's thinking a 3-Bedroom apt, which would basically be like my DORRRRMMMMS......sigh, at least I know the people this time. So I am heavily considering it, though I would wait until Dec. 5, which is when my contract with EA is up and we will see if they want me back or if I have to go back to Northrup.

I've been playing pump daily now at Underground, getting used to the "Superb" timing window and trying to stay on beat, because damn if these songs REALLY are groovy enough to distract me. Pandemic has stopped loading up the snack table with cookies and chips, and is focusing more on healthy food like those veggie platters, dried fruit, cereal, and croissants. I think they still get rice krispy treats and pop tarts though. I guess it's a good thing, but I NEED MY SUGAR!!

Justin's penis, huh~

Takeshi Murakami has some awesome works!

Regarding EA, that contract is in question after hearing about the layoffs a few weeks back (mainly on Ultima Online's department). But good luck on that.

Yeah, I really like his artwork. I've really wanted to see an exhibition of his, but they've never been in my area.

Let me know how it is.

The Murakami exhibition could have been done better. It should have been like the Surrealist exhibition at the LACMA that had so many fucking Magritte's in one spot it was nuts. Check out the massive Gordon Matta-Clark retrospective on the other side before you visit the Murakami. Don't be surprised if you go on saturday you see blinged out hos and bangers on the Murakami side mixed in with the hipster and old art buying crowds hahaha.
